Frequently Asked Questions

The coaching process focuses on identifying where you’d like to be and how to get there, rather than where you’ve just come from.
However, it isn't about pretending the past didn't happen - your experiences matter, and we'll honour them and build on them. The difference is that coaching helps you understand where you are now, where you'd like to go, and how you can begin moving towards that future.
If you're experiencing overwhelming grief, trauma or emotional distress, therapy or counselling may be the most appropriate support at this stage. If, however, you've reached a point where you're ready to begin looking forwards but aren't sure which direction to head, coaching can help create clarity, confidence and forward momentum.
Coaching is a partnership. While I bring my full attention, experience and commitment to our work together, meaningful change depends upon your willingness to engage with the process, reflect honestly and take action between sessions.

Coaching with me might be right for you if you’ve been through a big change or loss and are:
Wanting to move forward but feeling lost
Asking yourself ‘what now?’
Lacking clarity on the first step
Feeling afraid but wanting to move through the fear somehow
You can book a free Discovery Call to explore whether coaching is right for right now.
An important note: If you’re experiencing acute grief, trauma, or severe emotional distress, coaching may not be right for you at this moment, or it may be helpful alongside other specialist therapy. It isn't a substitute for professional medical, psychological, financial or legal advice. This is something we can discuss together before you commit and/or as we progress together.

Book your free Discovery Call - you’ll then receive a calendar invite and some optional reading beforehand.
During our 45 minute Discovery Call we’ll explore what’s brought you here and whether coaching feels like the right support.
After our Discovery Call, take a couple of days to decide what feels right for you. I’ll then check-in by email.
If you’d like to continue, I’ll send you the Coaching Agreement, which includes information such as my privacy policy, code of ethics, and cancellation policy. .
Once you’re happy, we’ll book your first coaching session and get going!

Entirely up to you! There might sometimes be tools and topics that can be worked on before sessions - but there’s also always the option to work through things within sessions.
The main thing is to make sure you’re somewhere comfortable and private. Perhaps grab a cup of something or a soft drink. If you like to take notes, have a pen and notepad handy or a laptop.
To protect privacy and maintain a sense of safety for both of us, calls are not to be recorded.

All coaching sessions take place online via Google Meet, or in the event of a technical hitch, or through preference, via WhatsApp video call.
Many clients appreciate the flexibility of online coaching, allowing them to join sessions from the comfort and privacy of their own home or another quiet space. It also means we can work together regardless of where you're based, without the need to travel.
Before each session, you'll receive a Google Meet link by email (or we’ll agree to call via WhatsApp). All you'll need is a reliable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and somewhere you feel comfortable talking without interruption. And perhaps a nice cup of something.
To protect privacy and maintain a sense of safety for both of us, calls are not to be recorded.

Yes. Coaching is rarely about having all the answers straight away. There may be sessions where we gain clarity, sessions where we explore uncertainty, and sessions where we celebrate meaningful progress. Each has value, and lasting change often comes from the cumulative effect of many small insights and actions rather than one breakthrough conversation.

Tears are welcome, if they turn up. They’re simply one way we process change. If emotions arise during coaching, there’s no need to apologise or hold them back. If, however, you're experiencing overwhelming grief or emotional distress that makes it difficult to engage in forward-looking coaching, we'll talk together about whether another form of support may be more appropriate at this stage.
-
Coaching isn't the right support for everyone, and that's completely okay. Our Discovery Call is an opportunity for us both to explore whether coaching feels like the right fit. If it transpires that another form of support might better meet your needs at this stage - such as counselling, therapy or another specialist service - we can discuss this possibility.
This programme is not suitable if you’re currently experiencing acute grief, trauma, or severe emotional distress.
Equally, if coaching together simply isn’t the right fit for you, there’s absolutely no obligation to continue.
-
Absolutely.
Coaching is most effective when it feels like a genuine partnership, and I never want anyone to feel committed to continue if it no longer feels right.
You’re free to end coaching at any point. Any sessions that have already taken place will remain chargeable, and any unused prepaid sessions will be refunded in accordance with the cancellation policy.
If you decide coaching isn't right for you, I simply ask that you let me know as soon as possible so we can bring our work together to a thoughtful close.
